Dancing

Jonny trained at the internationally renowned college Doreen Birds where he received a first class honours degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre.

Jonny’s first professional acclamation was playing Graffiti Pete in the Original London cast of In The Heights which he also Dance Captained along side Drew McConie. He then featured in the ensemble of White Christmas in the west end at The Dominion.

Dance, Dance, Dance

Jonny recently starred in – and WON – ITV’s brand new smash hit show Dance Dance Dance.

He took part and danced with his girlfriend Chrissy Brooke and they became the series’ first winning contestants. Jonny and Chrissy clinched the win with their moving rendition of Pink’s Try, which gained them a perfect score of 120 points.

Strictly Ballroom

Jonny has recently finished a 6 month run in the West End starring as Scott Hastings in the original London cast of Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom. Working for a second time with multi award winning Director/Choreographer Drew McConie (First time in the origonal London cast of In The Heights).
Playing to standing ovations every night at the Piccadilly Theatre Jonny and his co stars Zizi Strallen, Will Young, Matt Cardle transformed this cult classic film onto the stage for thousands on Londoners and dedicated fans from around the world.

Jonny said “Playing Scott Hastings night after night has been one of the most difficult yet rewarding challenges of my career. He’s such a misunderstood character and beneath the glitz and jewelled reflections of the ballroom world Scott is desperate to express his love of dance outside the constraints of the Ballroom vocabulary. A part that’s as raw in acting scenes as he is in dance is SUCH a rare opportunity and very unique. Working with the most incredible team of creatives and elite industry dancers/actors has been more than a dream come true. I’m very sad that it’s winding to a finish but a hopeful for what journey comes next.”
